Thanks to our community’s donations, Erin New has been hard at work with her troop to update Marley’s enclosure in our live animal building. Asian water monitor lizards are semiaquatic lizards native to southeast Asia and live not only in wetlands and swamps, but even cities with canal systems. They are incredible climbers and swimmers who use their tails to propel themselves through water. At only 7 years old, Marley still has growing to do and his new enclosure will allow him do so. In addition to more space, Marley will have a larger swimming hole, branches to climb on, and various types of enrichment activities. Anniston Museums and Gardens and Marley are grateful to Erin New and her scout troop for their time and hard work in providing a new and improved enclosure for Marley.
