Building Fairy Houses in the Garden

Join us for an enchanting hands-on experience led by Renee Simmons Raney, Chief of Education for Alabama State Parks, and author of Hairy, Scary, but Mostly Merry Fairies! Curing Nature Deficit Disorder through Folklore, Imagination, and Creative Activities.

In this special program, participants of all ages will learn to create whimsical, small-scale fairy habitats using natural materials, sparking creativity and curiosity about the world beneath our feet. As we construct these “leave in nature” fairy homes, we’ll explore how each piece of moss, bark, and stone plays a part in the larger ecosystem, offering a window into nature for discovering the hidden world of the forest floor and garden. Leave technology behind and rekindle your connection with the outdoors. Whether you’re 5 or 105, Building Fairy Houses in the Garden promises to awaken the playful explorer in you!

Building Fairy Houses in the Garden is $10/person; AM&G members receive a $5 discount.
