Cool Weather Vegetable Gardening

Join the Longleaf Botanical Gardens this Third Thursday to better understand the basics of planting a cool-weather vegetable garden. Master Gardener Elizabeth York will focus specifically on Alabama gardens. 

Elizabeth has 30 years experience as a perennial, annual, and vegetable gardener. She earned her Master Gardener certification in 2016. Elizabeth worked with the Harvest for Health Study jointly with UAB and Auburn University, educating cancer survivors about healthy eating by growing their own vegetables. She currently volunteers in a community garden, sharing her passion for vegetable gardens and assisting food banks in the Shelby County area. Elizabeth spends much of her time working in her organic garden, harvesting herbs and vegetables for personal use. 

Third Thursday is $5/person and free for AM&G Members. Pre-registration is encouraged.
